This week, five of our B.R.I.D.G.E.S. students had the opportunity to attend the Plantation High School Job Fair. Mrs. Karla Lama, the facilitator of the B.R.I.D.G.E.S. class, worked with the students on discussing the necessary components of a resume and proper attire to wear for an interview. She also discussed what types of questions they might be asked at the fair. This allowed the students to come prepared with what they wanted to share with the business representatives.
Students had a chance to talk to different business representatives from Pollo Tropical, Red Lobster, Pet Supermarket, City of Sunrise, Publix and many other community businesses. Each student presented their resume if they were interested in working at a particular place. Some of the job openings were cashier, bagging, counselors, concession stands, and crosswalk safety patrols.
We are proud of our B.R.I.D.G.E.S. students as they continue to practice their Independence, Development, Growth, Empowerment and Social Skills!
