HDS Companies marks the anniversary of Patt Denihan’s passing and remembers a mentor, leader, and dear friend
Sunday, September 6, 2022, marks the first anniversary of Patt Denihan’s passing, a solemn occasion memorized by her colleagues at HDS Companies (HDS). Those who knew Patt reflect on the undeniable impact she had on everyone around her; we remember her passion.
On Saturday, July 9, Patt’s family, friends, and a team of her HDS colleagues gathered for a Celebration of Patt’s Life. Together they shared memories, recognized, and celebrated her life and unwavering lifelong commitment to advancing the Affordable Housing Community and First-Time Homebuyer programs. Patt’s contributions have significantly impacted the local community and the national Affordable Housing Industry.
Her passing reminds everyone at HDS that we all share the honor and responsibility of carrying on the work Patt loved so much. We vow to continue to hold ourselves accountable as individuals, leaders, and an organization to continue supporting the Affordable Housing Community with the relentless urgency it deserves.
Thank you for remembering Patt, the work she dedicated her life to, and reflecting on who she was and what she stood for.

We greatly appreciate the time they devote to volunteering for the HDS Companies’ service projects and resources they provide to support the work of the HDS Foundation.
HDS Foundation Presents at Town of Miami Lakes of Miami Lakes Education Advisory Board Meeting
Earlier this month, HDS Foundation Board Members and Staff met with Miami Lakes Mayor Manny Cid and the Chair of the Miami Lakes Education Advisory Board, Mario Pinera. The purpose of our meeting was to discuss the Foundation’s vision of expanding the HDSF B.R.I.D.G.E.S. program to a local Miami Lakes High School for the 2022-2023 Miami-Dade County Public School calendar year.
We are excited to share that HDS Foundation was invited to present before the Town of Miami Lakes Education Advisory Board on Monday, June 27, 2022. Both, Mayor Cid and Chairman Pinera recognized Hialeah Miami Lakes Senior High School (HML). as a viable candidate for the HDSF B.R.I.D.G.E.S. Grant. Therefore, the Education Advisory Board invited Administrative Directors Leonard Torres and Alexander Santoya from the Miami-Dade County Public Schools North Region Office and Juan Ramirez, Principal at HML. The Foundation team introduced a video presentation at the meeting that highlighted the Foundation’s mission, vision, and the work we have done over the last 14 years. We have been invited by Mr. Santoyo, Mr. Torres, and Mr. Ramirez to tour the HML Campus and meet with their team of professionals.
We look forward to collaborating with the administration, teachers, students, and parents to make a difference in the lives of students on the Autism Spectrum as they transition from high school to post-secondary education.
