Who doesn’t love barbeque food? Students in the B.R.I.D.G.E.S. program enjoyed a delicious barbeque lunch at Mission BBQ for their Community Based Instruction (CBI). Each student had to order their own meal, deciding whether they wanted chicken, beef or pork. After the students ordered, they had to wait until their name was called to pick up their food. Once they got the food, they sat down and enjoyed time together socializing with one another.
During lunch, one of the traditions at Mission BBQ at noon, is to stand for the Star-Spangled Banner. Each student stood up during this time to honor our country. Students then finished their lunch, cleaned up their areas and headed back to school.
This CBI allowed the students to not only practiced their Resources, Independence, Development, Growth and Social Skills, they were able to practice and show their support for their country.
